Structural Section Manager

About the job

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

 

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation Structural design drawings and documents as per the project’s contractual, stakeholders’ requirements, ensure the full compliance with the client and Alsuweidi standards and relevant design codes and standards for obtaining necessary permits and floating tenders in accordance with time schedules approved for projects.
  • Controlling quality of all products of design phase, coordinating and cooperating technically with other design and BIM teams, sections, subconsultants and freelancers to ensure achieving project requirements.
  • Making authoritative design decisions, technical review and approving all drawings and documents issued by the structural team.
  • Providing design review of all work performed by team members including Contractor’s submittals- if required.
  • Structural analysis and design using one or more of structural program.
  • To plan, lead, organize and control operations of the Structural Department.
  • Chairing and supporting design internal and stakeholders’ workshops and meetings and relevant negotiations.
  • Full understanding of the project requirements concerning time, cost and quality.
  • Estimating working hours for pricing new projects or approving working hours and delivery dates for awarded projects.
  • Allocating the engineers to projects and the time they spend at each project, followed by the necessary task and resources management.
  • Assist the project managers and head of Design department at the projects’ design processes and practices, supporting the best delivery as per the contractual requirements, Alsuweidi and the local and international standard.
  • Preparing and leading the execution of the Structural assessment projects and scopes.
  • Contributing to the growth of the company through the project and team success.
  • Leading and motivating the team to achieve Alsuweidi and projects objectives and goals and support at enhancing the positive work environment.
  • Empowering team members with references and skills to improve their confidence, product knowledge, and communication skills.
  • Supervising and evaluating the performance and work of structural design engineers, BIM modelers and draftsmen, and proposing training, promotions and demotions for them as required.
  • Prequalifying, supervising and evaluating the performance and work of subconsultants and freelancers.

 

Requirements:

  • Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering

  • Relevant Experience:

13-18 years’ post graduation work experience.

  • Skill Set Requirements:

Professional in Revit & AutoCAD

Working knowledge in the use of at the structural design software (FEM), at least ETABS, SAFE, SAP.

Experience on multi-disciplinary design projects.

Well-versed with structural calculation for different load cases Static and dynamic analysis.

Familiar with industry-standard codes ACI, IBC, BSI, etc.

Strong communication and coordination skills.

Proficient in preparing reports and calculations.

Responsibilities:

  • Design Leadership:

    Lead the design process, from conception to completion, ensuring high-quality and innovative architectural solutions.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate architectural concepts into overall project objectives.

  • Design Development:

    Develop and refine design concepts based on client requirements, budget constraints, and regulatory considerations.

    Produce detailed drawings, models, and specifications using various design software.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

Responsibilities:

  • Registrations and prequalification:

Conducting the registration process with potential clients to secure ALSUWEIDI’s prequalification and receiving RFQs and advising on additional and requirements of current licenses to secure maximum access to prospect clients and RFQs.

  • Understanding Project Requirements:

Analyzing and understanding the detailed requirements of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), tenders, or bids from clients.

  • Coordinating Proposals:

Collaborating with engineering, design, finance, and other departments to prepare competitive and compelling proposals that align with the firm’s capabilities and clients’ needs.

  • Pricing Strategy:

Developing pricing strategies that reflect both competitive market rates and the value provided by the firm, ensuring that the bids are financially viable.

GIS Specialist

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

 

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and effectively employing geospatial solutions on regulatory and permitting elements of infrastructure and transportation projects.
  • Developing and supporting web GIS applications using Esri Web App Builder, Operations Dashboards, Story Maps, Collector, Survey 123 within ArcGIS Online platform.
  • Creating maps, databases, and other deliverables for simultaneously ongoing bid/execution projects.
  • Organizing, conceptualizing, and conducting advanced spatial analyses for infrastructure and transportation projects.
  • Developing vector and raster spatial analysis models using Spatial Model Builder, Python, or other GIS scripting languages.
  • Preparing quality assurance plans for GIS tasks and oversees their implementation.
  • Performing other duties as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, or GIS.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience and knowledge with developing GIS databases and maintaining GIS data with Geographic Information Systems and particularly ArcGIS/ESRI products and basic GIS and CAD Data structures.
  • Advanced knowledge of GIS tools and methodologies for administration of corporate GIS databases
  • Advanced knowledge of ESRI tools including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online/Enterprise.
  • Full familiarity with DMT and ITC procedures and requirements.
  • Experience with presentation and graphic design tools for the production of professional quality mapping output products.
  • Working experience scripting (using Java, SQL or Python) is an asset.

Roads Design Engineer

About the job

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE / Amman, Jordan

 

Responsibilities:

  • Carry all roads design activities for projects and studies in various development stages: pre-feasibility, feasibility, concept design, basic design, detailed design and permitting.
  • Design of grade-separated interchanges and complex interchanges.
  • Design of junctions of roundabouts and signalized junctions both horizontally and vertically and the development of site grading.
  • Design the Roads in a 3D environment.
  • Design of road cross-sections and generating earthwork quantities from the 3D model.
  • Pavements design and pavement design reports.
  • Work coactively with the design team, and collaborate closely with other disciplines ensuring their requirements are fulfilled.
  • Provide design support during the construction stage.
  • Attend team and project meetings.
  • Cascade information to the team as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering – Roads.
  • 5-8 years of relevant roads design experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Authorities’ regulations in UAE and international standards.
  • Knowledge in Geometric design of roads and highways (horizontal alignments, vertical alignments, cross-sections, signing and marking) according to local and international standards (AASHTO, etc.).
  • Full familiarity with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit.
  • Immediate availability is preferred
  • Hands-on projects with Abu Dhabi DMT or ITC.
  • Experience in concept design, detailed design, and drainage design of different road classes.
  • Familiarity with pavement design requirements in Abu Dhabi.

Road Safety Engineer

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and/or participate in road safety audits (RSA Stages 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4), as defined in TR-540 (by QCC).
  • Lead and/or participate in in-service road safety reviews/inspections for a variety of Abu Dhabi roads.
  • Lead or participate in conceptual, functional, and detailed road design projects.
  • Lead or participate in internal safety reviews of different road design projects.
  • Lead or participate in client and contractor meetings.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff through all stages of multiple projects, at various stages of development.
  • Engage in active business development for different transportation engineering projects.

 

Requirement:

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering from an accredited university (Master’s is preferred) with a strong emphasis on transportation or traffic engineering.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in road safety audits and in-service road safety reviews/inspections.
  • Must have completed a minimum of 5 Road Safety Audits (as Audit Team Member or Observer) in the past 24 months.
  • Licensed (or eligible to be licensed) by DMT.
  • Full familiarity with national and international standards and guidelines related to road safety and highway design, including TR-540 (by QCC), TR-514 (by QCC), TR-531 (by QCC), Highway Safety Manual (by AASHTO), Green Book (by AASHTO), MUTCD (by FHWA), HCM (by FHWA), and other guidelines published by QCC, FHWA, and ITE.
  • Full familiarity with DMT and ITC procedures and requirements.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English (Arabic is an asset).
